Favourite Movies

Page history last edited by Manukau Learning 2.0 15 years, 2 months ago

Charlotte: Chocolat, definitely. Johnny Depp with an Irish accent and truckloads of chocolate - what more could you ask for?

shootme: The Pursuit of Happiness played by Will Smith - based on a true story. This was truly an awesome movie.

shopgirl: I have so many favourite movies it would take forever to list them but from the ones I've seen recently it would be the latest Indiana Jones one and the most funniest one I've seen recently is Get Smart. I thought that was hilarious and wacky. You could never go wrong with a good old laugh!

Summergirl: Gone with the wind is always my favourite. I can watch it over again and I don't get bored with it. My most recent favourite movie is Get Smart! It was so funny and made me laugh and laugh...Even the Sex and city was not surprisingly good as I expected, but it was still good as usual!

Bellydancer: Loved the latest batman movie - Heath Ledger was just brilliant!  My top 2 movies of all time are The Shawshank Redemption and Gone with the wind - what a bitch Scarlett is, I just love her!

UgahBugah:   Honestly, The Princess Bride is absolutely right up there. It's a movie I can stop and watch where ever it's being played, fantastic dialogue, great characters and a love story to boot. Go figure. The Shawshank Redemption is another fave, great movie adaption from Stephen Kings novel. Beautiful depiction of hope.

Coolcat46: So many movies but to make you laugh "Little Miss Sunshine" is special. "The Lives of Others" certainl;y makes you glad that you live in NZ and not in a communist state - holds your attention all the way through.

Forrestbabe:My favourite movies are Kung Fu panda, Sex and the city, Finding Nemo, and Transformers is my all time favourite, in saying that I also love Mama Mia, so if you like ABBA then this is recommended.

Marlowe: I like "Farewell My Lovely", "The Big Sleep", "The Long Goodbye" and all those other biopics, but don't get me started on Elliot Gould (what were they thinking).

Digger Chic: I have a love of old movies and most things from the 80s (what can I say, I'm a child of the 80s) so with that in mind, my all-time favourite movie has to be "Casablanca" with "The Princess Bride" a close second and "The Breakfast Club" coming up close in third place.  That said, who could forget Joan Crawford in the 1945 classic "Mildred Pierce".

TrendyGran: My favourite movies are "Roman Holiday" and "My Fair Lady" both starring Audrey Hepburn. I am a romantic at heart and thoroughly enjoyed both these. I know I am sh

catatonic-chataholic: Unfair!  I have a fav (or two) for every genre.  Current fav is prob 'Hairspray' because the fat girl gets the guy (although he's kinda skinny) :0)

Hikurangi: Did I see Movie(s), as in plural.  Well then at this time, they would have to be, Ngati, Nemo, Miss Congeniality 1, The Butterfly Effect, Sex in the City and Eagle vs Shark...would A Small Samoan Wedding be in the Movie section, can't see a DVD section.  This DVD is awesome.

Danielle: Difficult to choose, yes! but probably two of my favourites are 'Jaws' and 'Persuasion'. Both of them do neat things with characterisation and dialogue and I've watched both so many times, just to see the way the people interact with each other and their surroundings. Now, with a toddler, trips to the movies are an extra special treat - looking forward to 'the Dark Knight'!

Top Cat: So hard to choose, but *one* of my favourites would have to be "FFVII Advent children" (can never see that too many times).  My second choice would probably be "The usual suspects"

Newweb2: One of my favourite's would have to be Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - the scenery, spectacular costumes and choreographed martial arts. If you like an action-packed adventure then you will like this.

Misery: Hard to pick... so many films so few lines. Love Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away and Howls Moving Castle. Am very much an animation person. Also like The Hitchhiker Guide to the Galaxy and Beetle Juice. I Judge a film by how many times i can watch it.

JC: Too many! so here's several (in no particular order) - The Station Agent, all the Pixar animations, Mystic River, To Be and To Have, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Constant Gardener, Pan's

Labyrinth, Once.

Master:My favourite movies are......well there's a lot!.But I was always taken by the film Braveheart,Ben Hur,Troy and One flew over the cockoo's nest.I like Historic features mainly but also Comedy.

Natalie from Digital: If you've read my blog, you'll know I'm a big Star Wars fan. I love the characters, the story, the humour, the imagination and the spiritual themes. Another of my favourite movies is The Lion King. Disney did some great stuff in the late 80s/90s with Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin ... and then I think The Lion King was the pinnacle of this trend. Also on my favourite shortlist are: Titanic, The Sound of Music, A Few Good Men and Apollo 13.

LiL GurL: I agree with Natalie from Digital, The Lion King is my all time favourtie movie and I can say without shame that I get a little tear everytime mufasa dies (whereas i cried the first time i saw him time). Good older movies include Princess bride with Andre the giant and Labrynth with David Bowie. New or newer ones would be Riddick with Vin Diesel, The new Batman, Friday, set it off, and thats just to name a few.

Nesian Chic ~ my all time favourite movie is Annie as it was the first movie I ever saw!  Then I have lots a chic flick favourites like Bridget Jones, Miss Congeniality, Pretty Woman the list goes on.... Sione's Wedding - absolute favourite 2! Iove Oceans 11 and the Italian Job etc...  Suppose to go watch Mama Mia but lost a bet with hubby (long story!) on the way to cinema and I ended up watching The Bank Job (starring the guy from Transporter...which made losing the bet! bearable!!!)

Little Lady:  My favourite movies are: The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, Grease, Oliver Twist, Pride and Prejudice, Australia ! must watch ! :) and a few more.
