Favourite Music

Page history last edited by Manukau Learning 2.0 15 years, 3 months ago

Felicianette: One of my favorourite meoldies is one by Handel from one of his operas. The words beign "There is a reason roses entwine".

List your Fave's here.

Jesus Freak says: I like a variety of music genres.  I have some Mozart C.D'S as I played classical piano up to and including Grade 7 (Royal Schools of Music) and I had to learn a paricular piece which I still love (Piano in G Major); I used to love the Beatles earlier stuff for it's simplicity (even though they were before my time!); I also liked new wave music in the eighties (showing my age here!); I like Gloria Estefan (bright, energetic latin beats); Crowded House, U2 (doesn't everyone!), John Farhnam and the band Cold Chisel (awesome Australian soloists with amazing vocal range and vocal strength); I don't mind a bit of Jazz either (reminds me of the New Orleans which I was fortunate to visit before the hurricane visited!); Christian bands I also like are De Garmo and Key, D.C. Talk, Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, United (Hillsong); Kutless, Steve Camp, Third Day, Brooke Fraser and more.... I could go on...!!

catatonic-chataholic: Unfair!  Umm I have a fav or two (or 100) for every genre.  Will list a few types instead: New Orleans brass band jazz (yeah, so shoot me), Ska, Classic Rock (I remember the days when it was just plain ol' Rock), some classical.  That's enough, I think.

I like all sorts but love the music of the eighties when I was a very young girl (not). Love The Ten Tenors and the way they have no shame and aren't afraid to make idiots of themselves on stage but the boys can sing. Like Chris Brown. Bit of everything really.

I like classical, country, jazz and a little bit rock music.

Hikurangi: At the moment it is the Pricilla Show CD.  The old favs would be Ngati waiata and Maaori waiata.

This is Mozart3777. I love classical music as you can see from my blogname.

The Indecisive Aussie: I love kiwi music! Everything from Shihad to Hollie Smith to Fat Freddy's Drop to SJD to Tiki to TrinityRoots! We have such a huge talent pool in this little country of ours! And yes, I am an Aussie, I admit it, but what comes out of NZ musically beats Oz hands down! ;)

raggamuffin:  I, like the Indecisive Aussie, LOVE New Zealand music, Hollie is the best, Fat Freddies, KORA I've just discovered and I love, they are bodacious, and the Black Seeds are great.  Also, apart from NZ music, there is Stevie Wonder (coming in October yeyaaaah), Sublime, Gwen, Muse and so many more I can't even fit in here.  Oooo but I must mention Samuel Barbers Adagio for Strings, and Ravel's ballet, Daphne et Chloe - such colourful music, more for an intellectual excercise rather than beauty at times.

Highlandlass: I love New Zealand music, just like raggamuffin and the indecisive aussie.  Best I love Goldenhorse, Anika Moa, Opshop, Evermore ( they're NOT  Aussies), Bic Runga, Katchafire, Finn brothers...any New Zealand music really.

Liddleminxy:  Of course it is Mrs Bunny - cause someone here makes the best little round Mrs. Bunny of all time - you know who I mean!!

ZeeLeeCee: I can never seem to get sick of The Cars and Hillsong. The Cars I, ironically, listen to in the car and Hillsong around the house. I enjoy empowering music best!

Little Lady: Hymns and the old time favourite songs.

gravy: I am a jazz fan and like a wide variety from more traditional to modern. Last year I saw Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock perform . They are some of the great names in jazz piano . Also really enjoyed saxophonist Ravi Coltrane ( son of legend John Coltrane) play at the Town Hall. This year I have got a ticket for the October concert by John Scofield (guitar)and Joe Lovano (saxophone).

Akasha: I love music and I think if the world didn't have any, we'd be so dull and lifeless. I love R&B, Hip Hop and some hard core rap artists like: Master P and Eazy E. I also love artists like: Alicia Keys & Lil Jon....I've been known to also get into hard rock and metal bands: Metallica, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden...I think my music interests all depends on my mood that day.
